Waste not, want some: The fall collection from Myrrhia has ‘eco-perfection’ scribbled all over it.

At the Oakland, California studio of her eponymous knitwear label, designer Myrrhia Resneck strives to create clothing that is as sustainable as it is splendid. From the sourcing of materials — every yarn, fiber and thread originates from the US — to the made-to-order set-up, each step of the production process has been built to yield as little waste as possible. Engineered using fully-fashioned technology, Myrrhia’s sweaters and dresses are “knit to shape”, rather than cut from pattern pieces and sewn together (a cheaper technique which leaves scraps that would likely end up in a landfill).

The Autumn/ Winter collection features cropped sweaters, shift dresses and accessories kitted out in pink, grey and orange, splashed with scribbly patterns or knitted into ribs and chevrons. We’re especially fond of the double buckle cowl; the rustic hardware teamed with reclaimed leather and soft, cableknit texture is a rugged neck-warming alternative to your usual, everyday scarf. All pieces are rendered from 100% organic Merino Wool straight out of Maine.

Myrrhia is stocked at a variety of boutiques along the west coast, but you can also purchase the goods at the official Etsy store.
